While the international break stems the tide of club activity, a number of Man City's players made stole the show within international duty.
Felipe Caicedo lead to his Ecuador side to a 3-2 victory over the Three Lions U21's, scoring a show-stopper with seven minutes remaining. Stuart Pearce's U21, which featured City's Micah Richards took the lead with Adam Johnson (Middlesbrough) and Fraizer Campbell's (Tottenham Hotspur on-loan from Manchester United) goal before the break. However with the restart the Ecuadorian side stormed back and brought the match level with two goals within a minute. Eight minutes after the break Joffre Guerrón (Getafe) and Pablo Palacios (Barcelona) struck in quick fire action before Felipe Caicedo stunning left footed drive into the back of the net.
Not to be outdone Robinho and Elano lead Brazil to a 2-0 victory over the Azzurri at Emirates Stadium. Only thirteen minutes the Selecao too the lead with a perfect buildup of play starting with Ronaldoinho (AC Milan) delivering the ball to Elano, who back-heeled the ball back to Robinho. In textbook fashion Elano drove forward without the ball, creating space while Robinho cited the opening and sent a perfect pass beyond Nicola Legrottaglie (Juventus) back to the Elano who neatly dispatched the ball behind Gigi Buffon (Juventus). Three minutes before the hour Andrea Pirlo (AC Milan) was dispossessed of the ball by Robinho, who they displayed his stunning abilities and after negotiating his way around Nicola Legrottaglie, he gave Dunga's Brazil a 2-0 lead. While Marcello Lippi side poured forward to maintain Italy's stunning run of thirty-one unbeaten matches under his tutiledge Júlio César could not be beat and Brazil took the 2-0 victory.
