Twente doubled the margin as Netherland U21 Eljero Elia was provider for Kenneth Perez ten minutes after the break, with the veteran driving the ball to the back of the net from just from outside the area. While Schalke drew one back with thirteen minutes left as Kevin Kurányi set up Gerald Asamoah for a easy goal, they were unable to break through on a consistent basis and Twente walked away with the great 2-1 victory.
