Farewell Dennis Wise

Rather than soil the joyous announcement of Mr. Shearer's return home with his name, the perfect day for Newcastle was finally complete with the departure of Dennis Wise.

The best that can be said of Wise was that he was a brilliant player is his time and a highly promising managerial candidate. While I care little of providing a biography of his career, the young man from Kensington unfortunately never learned the fine art of being able to work with others and as shown highly corrosive elements throughout his career. For those that look at the impact of young players not learning the true message of the beautiful game, he is a perfect albeit sad example.

In what was clearly the beginning of the end, Mike Ashley brought in Wise, who unceremoniously left Leeds mid-campaign for greener pastures. The storm clouds quickly brewed around St James' Park as the former Wimbledon lad arrived and with many associated with the club now slathered around the world coaching, they all point to his divisive impact.

Where Dennis Wise will turn up next is anyone's guess. He is a very talented individual that unfortunately does himself no good with his demeanor or approach to working with others. This hasn't changed since Dave Bassett was in-charge of Wimbledon nearly a quarter of a century ago and it likely won't. Hopefully one day he will learn the "importance of being wise" but thankfully he is now severed from Newcastle and the club can move towards a brighter future.
