Dan Petrescu new manager of Kuban Krasnodar

Kuban Krasnodar has masterfully handed its managerial reigns to Dan Petrescu with the signing of a five-year contract, rumoured to be worth €1.5m per season.

Dan Petrescu expected to be new manager at Kuban Krasnodar

Dan Petrescu, who shocked the Romanian football community by resigning from Unirea Urziceni last Monday, said to Gazeta Sporturilor that he is considering a number of offers.

The Romanian media magnate further speculated that Mr. Petrescu, 42, will be taking over the managerial reigns of Kuban Krasnodar. Though unconfirmed, a variety of sources are reporting that Kuban has offered to treble his wages at Unirea with a five-year contract of €1.5m per season.

CSKA Moskva to add Keisuke Honda from VVV-Venlo

In accordance with club president Evgeniy Giner's lofty goals in European competition, CSKA Moscow are on the verge of signing the highly rated Japan international Keisuke Honda from VVV-Venlo of the Eredivisie.

A highly skilled midfielder / left-back, the twenty-three year-old debuted for Nagoya Grampus of the J-League in 2005 before making the move to the Dutch side two years ago.

Rubin Kazan after Adem Ljajić

Per a variety of news reports, defending Russian champions Rubin Kazan have swooped in to sign FK Paritizan's Adem Ljajić.

Signed by Manchester United in January 2009, along with then Partizan teammate Zoran Tošic, he returned to the defending Serbian champions with the intent of moving to the English club the following year.

VfB Stuttgart overwhelm Hoffenheim

UEFA rules on Sergey Ignashevich and Alexey Berezutsky

CSKA Moscow's Sergey Ignashevich and Alexey Berezutsky have been banned by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body for one match following a failed drug test.

In addition to the suspensions the club has been fined €25,000 for not adhering anti-doping Regulations. The two Russian internationals underwent doping tests following the 3 November Champions League

Review of week 30 of Rosgosstrakh Championship of Russia

After thirty extraordinary rounds of competition, the Rosgosstrakh Championship of Russia came to a brilliant conclusion on Sunday with Rubin Kazan once again crowned champion. In successfully defending its crown, the Tatarstan side has accomplished what few considered possible and though they lack the funds to investment of their counterparts, they tore the campaign with the tactical precision and an astonishing level of professional maturity.

With the title, Rubin Kazan reserves its spot in the Champions League, with Spartak Moscow joining them after earning the silver medal at second place. Despite a late season swoon, the Krasno-belye will remember the year for the stunning turnaround orchestrated by Valeriy Karpin.
