Marching on Together: Leeds v Huddersfield match preview

Following Mondays 2-0 victory over Millwall, Leeds can squeeze its way into a playoff spot with a victory over Huddersfield Town at Galpharm Stadium. However only four points behind the Terriers have visions of promotion as well and are undefeated in previous seven matches at home.

Lee Clark has bolstered his side considerably with Lukas Jutkiewicz on-loan from Everton and the nineteen year old striker possess bales of promise. He will also return Gary Roberts to the lineup and Leeds will need to be up to the test from the defending side because the potential is there to score at will.

Leeds will be without Jermaine Beckford for his assault on Millwall goalkeeper David Forde, resulting in Lee Trundle pairing with Argentine maestro Luciano Becchio up top.

Prior to match, Leeds manager Simon Grayson said of the changes:

"We've planned for losing Jermaine, we'll deal with it and there's other players who are available.

"Someone else will now have an opportunity to get in the team.

"He is a loss when you have scored the goals he has, but when you lose your leading goalscorer in any team it's the same.

"But it gives someone else the opportunity. Luciano has been waiting patiently. He was in need of a breather when we left him out and he accepted that

"He has worked very hard in training, he grasped the opportunity on Monday and affected the game when he came on. Mike Grella is in the squad for the weekend as well.

"You can do without your best players being suspended, but it comes with the territory. We'll go with what we think will be good enough to win the game."
