Eintracht collapses against Bremen 5-0

After a very good opening half the roof caved in as Eintracht lost 5-0 to Bremen at Waldstadion. The loss leaves still technically in danger of relegation although highly unlikely.

The match was extremely frustrating for a packed house who enjoyed a highly disciplined opening forty-five minutes by Friedhelm Funkel's side in which Bremen's advances were well under control. However five minutes after the restart, Mesut Özil surged into the box and with Patrick Ochs possibly getting a hand on him as the German international dropped, a penalty adjudged along with a straight red-card. It was a horrible injustice and after Torsten Frings converted added three more strikes in the nest eleven minutes. After Frings added his second, Alexandros Tziolis and Claudio Pizarro added their name to score sheet with Hugo Almeida making it 5-0 with thirteen minutes remaining.
