I am very pleased to announce that Nery Castillo is set to join Chivas of Primera División de México. Nery is a brilliant talent that joined Man City from Shakhtar Donetsk with great intention whilst Sven-Göran Eriksson was heading up City but following a difficult injury he was unable to find his place in the lineup.
As the direction of the club changed and Mark Hughes wanted to put his own mark on the lineup, numerous top-flight players such as Georgios Samaras, Rolando Bianchi and Bernardo Corradi fell out of favour and left for new environments. Like Nery, none really had an honest chance this past summer and joined other clubs. Hopefully Nery will find his new home brings him good fortune and I sincerely wish him all the best with Chivas as well as reuniting with Sven's El Tri.
Not completely out of the same vein, twenty year-old Ecuadorian Felipe Caicedo will likely do the same shortly and contrary to some comments, he is a superb talent that needs time on the pitch. I can't help but mention how long will Daniel Sturridge and Ched Evans be satisfied with ancillary roles and do the same.
