Wales defeats Denmark 1-0

Hull City's Boaz Myhill kept the Danes at bay and Craig Bellamy scored with thirteen minutes remaining to give John Toshack's youthful Wales squad a 1-0 victory over Denmark in in Brøndby. Although the match was played in rainy conditions it was a spirited affair with a number of respectable scoring chances before the break but both clubs were held off the score sheet. The youth movement of Ched Evans (Man City), Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) and Jack Collison (West Ham) were a whirlwind of opportunities and whilst they were unable to create the final touch, they left supporters excited about the future. After the break, the tide turned on the match with the Danish side coming close a number of times with both good fortune falling towards Wales and Boaz Myhill pulling off some match saving saves. Finally at the seventy-seventh minute Craig Bellamy struck a booming drive from the edge of the box to give Wales the 1-0 lead. The Danes pressed for the equalizer but 'keeper Boaz Myhill denied Martin Vingaard from point-blank range.
