The strange disillusioned world of Charles N’Zogbia keeps wandering to a stranger world as the young midfielder seems not understand the notion of being a “professional.”

Whimpering to the media about or anyone else who will listen to him, he said:

“There was no conversation at all. I was talking to Chris Hughton (assistant manager) all the time but I wasn’t talking to the manager - maybe when there was something bad in training but he wouldn’t tell you why you were on the bench. I think he did it with everyone.

“I can be moody sometimes, of course, but I enjoy my life.”

“It is good to have a manager who can care about you, ask you many questions,” he added. “When you are young you need that, something like he will be your dad and can really help you.

“You need that belief to be able to play your best football.

“When you don’t have that conversation you don’t want to feel like that. You want to feel like the manager is on your side.”

I’m not sure where to start and unfortunately few in the coaching world get a chance to write on such a topic. However with that said and a few decades on the pitch behind me, no, Charles, your coach isn’t your “Dad”. He doesn’t even need to be your friend. He’s a leader who gets the tough job done and you’re their to follow his direction. At twenty-two years of age, your days of being coddled should long be over and need to understand the professional side of sports.

Charles N'Zogbia to leave

Speaking to L'Equipe Charles N'Zogbia made it clear that he is hopeful to be out of Newcastle:

"I'm at a turning point in my career.

"My agents are talking with Tottenham and Villa and, from what they've told me, Arsenal could also be in the frame.

"I have a preference for the Gunners but they are three great clubs."

"I've been here for four years. It's a club who have allowed me to discover the France youth team, and I thank them for that, but at some point you have to know how to aim higher.

"I've spoken to my bosses at the club. They know what my aims are and what I want to continue to progress. As soon as a big club knocks on the door with a good offer, I don't think they'll prevent me leaving.

"But while I'm waiting I'm continuing to train, without letting my head go down, because I am above all a professional.

"A return to France is not unforeseeable.

"But personally I have always said that my priority is to remain in England.

"It's a league which I take pleasure from and which suits me well."

In response to the situation Joe Kinnear said of the murky situation:

"I have spoken to Arsene Wenger and he said he's not interested in any of my players, so I don't know where the agent is coming from.

"We are looking into it. If it is true, then the agent is being disrespectful. He's never had the decency to explain anything to any member of this football club.

"It's laughable, to be honest. It's absolute nonsense. Charles is under contract until 2012, and I told him on day one that he was a very important player."

Charles N'Zogbia is not going anywhere

With rumours swirling that Charles N'Zogbia is returning to PSG, Joe Kinnear has stated emphatically that the France U21 will be staying a Magpie:

"I've read reports suggesting Charles is a player I'm looking to sell during the transfer window. I don't know who puts these stories out, but it's just nonsense. We've got a big challenge ahead of us this season and we're all very aware of that. Charles is an important member of the squad and is very much in my plans. You want to add players of Charles' quality to the squad, not lose them."
