Genoa over AC Milan 2-0

Genoa’s extraordinary 2-0 victory over AC Milan was due to the brilliant tactical plan manager Gian Piero Gasperini put forth which respected AC Milan’s attack and dictated their offense by fortifying defensively and sprung upon weaknesses with patience. It was brilliant coaching and a lesson in tactical play.

Giuseppe Sculli gave the home squad the lead at the thirtieth minute mark with a strike within the area to the lower corner of the net. Through the balance of the half Genoa controlled the majority of the play with AC lacking the legs to really attack. Primarily, it appeared that Kaká and Ronaldinho were far from one-hundred per-cent and questionably match-fit. Marco Borriello and Clarence Seedorf were brought in after the break to spark the Rossoneri’s attack but they had only modest success at challenging Rubinho and I would still contend this match was won by Genoa because of greater desire and tactical play. To complete the day and his triumphant return to Genoa, Diego Milito added a penalty strike in added time after he was tripped up in the area by Paolo Maldini.
