Pachuca easily defeats Monterrey

Monterrey went down to their second straight loss as Pachuca easily defeated the Rayados 2-1. The once-stunning Monterrey offensive assault has disappeared and they barely threatened Pachuca ‘keeper Miguel Calero. Pachuca opened the scoring Leobardo López six minutes before the break with a header off a corner. However the home squad gave the lead back three minutes into the half with an unfortunate Fausto Pinto own-goal. After the goal, Pachuca pushed forward and took the play to the lifeless Rayados. At the sixty-fifth minute Paul Nicolás Aguilar was fouled in the area and the spot was pointed to. Confidently Bruno Marioni stepped-up and struck the ball to the back of the net to give Pachuca the 2-1 lead and the eventual victory.

Monterrey must regroup quickly as they face the Jaguares on Saturday.
