Monterrey falls out of Ligulla at hands of Puebla

Monterrey's Liguilla efforts came to an end as they played Puebla to a 2-2 draw in the second leg of the quarter finals at the Tecnológico.

Despite Monterrey showing strong attacking vision, Alejandro Acosta gave the visitors the lead fourteen minutes in as he headed-in Daniel Osorno free kick. Any chance of coming back ended ten minutes after the restart as Orlando Javier Rincón drove the ball in from the edge of the area after receiving Ramón Núñez' provision to make it 2-0, with the aggregate now 5-1. The Rayados fought back and a few minutes before the hour William Paredes to within one as he sent a powerful drive in from thirty metres. Finally with thirteen minutes remaining Abraham Darío Carreño nodded in Walter Ayoví's corner to level the match but Monterrey could not make up lost ground and their campaign came to an unsatisfying end.
