Felix Magath's Wolfsburg continued on their unbeaten string in the Rückrunde with their seventh successive victory defeating DSC Arminia Bielefeld 3-0 at SchücoArena. Without surprise the relegation threatened “schwarz-weiß-blauen” hosts were firmly rooted in a tight defensive strategy but rarely bothered die Wölfe 'keeper Diego Benagli.
Wolfsburg took the lead nineteen minutes in on a quick counter as Grafite provided the ball to Christian Gentner to finish from twelve metres. Following the goal the hosts did well to bring the match down to a low simmer and for the most part, Wolfsburg's chances were limited to after the re-start. Two minutes before the hour the margin was doubled as Sascha Riether dispatched the ball to Grafite with the Brazilian goal-scorer making no mistake sending the ball in from close range. The hosts poured forward looking for a way back in the match and while Wolfsburg came under some attack but each effort fell short. Finally at the eighty-seventh minute Ashkan Dejagah, who had entered the match for Zvjezdan Misimović twenty minutes earlier, added the third goal of the afternoon as his shot took an opportunistic bounce.
