With todays tough match-up against VFB, Fred Rutten is expecting a tough challenge noting that because of the change of manager the opposition will have an extra push. However he confirms, “We’ll be ready for everything.”
Die Königsblauen must put this weeks loss to Manchester City in the UEFA Cup and return to the form that saw them upend ‘Gladbach. Fred Rutten said of last weekends match: “We created chances during that game and turned them into goals - I was satisfied with that. We also managed to keep things tight at the back. It’s proof that things are headed in the right direction but there is a way to go.”
Fred Rutten will be without Levan Kenia, Peter Lovenkrands, Albert Streit and Zé Roberto with Serbian international Mladen Krstajić in doubt. VFB are missing Matthieu Delpierre, Ludovic Magnin, Sebastian Rudy and Turkish international Yildiray Bastürk but do have Sami Khedira and Martin Lanig back. Look for a very physical match with VFB taking on the form of their new manager Markus Babbel.
