Following Joe Kinnear's comments that official Martin Atkinson call in the November 9th match Fulham was "Mickey Mouse", the FA has charged with improper conduct.
Returning to the match, Joe Kinnear believed that a defender Claudio Cacapa was fouled by Andrew Johnson and said after the match:
"Cacapa was on the ball and Johnson completely pushes him out the way, nicks the ball and gets the penalty.
"We have got the Mickey Mouse referee doing nothing. He's made an error that cost us."
Well now, I can imagine like myself your ears are burning with such scandalous words. Excuse my horrible volley at humour but while it is fine when coaches launch into four-letter tirades, or athletes conduct themselves without consideration of the youth who look up to them, commentary of officiating being "Mickey Mouse" is where the FA decides line needs to be drawn? While I warrant respecting officiating is extremely important the FA needs to consider actions before they make such rulings.
While it might be of some surprise to find me defending Joe Kinnear given my detest for his public outburst, this is a joke, albeit an expected one from the FA. Possibly the worst management Football association in the major nations and certainly one with most "interesting" hidden agenda's of its business partners, if it decides to actually police public behaviour it ought to at least start with material issues.
