After a disappointing first half of the season, which has seen Feyenoord languish twelfth in the table, the club has parted ways with Gertjan Verbeek, assistant coach Wim Jansen and technical director Peter Bosz.In a prepared statement the club said,"the chemistry between players and coach totally vanished."
Feyenoord general director Eric Gudde said, "It's a low for football when a number of players do not want to continue with a coach, but there is no other solution then to install someone else at the helm."
With the Eredivisie returning to action this weekend, this puts the club in a precarious position. Leon Vlemmings will assume the managerial position for its match against SC Heerenveen on Friday.
