Leonid Kovel of Saturn Moscow is one Footballs intriguing young talents. A talented young striker with an eye towards the goal but always exuding a "team first" approach, he is ready to break through in Russia after joining last year from Karpaty Lviv of the Ukrainian Premier League. The Belarus international spoke of the upcoming season via the clubs official website:
In the opening friendly the twenty-two year old sharpshooter, started on the back-line because of clubs needs. Of his defending experience he said:
"Yes, I played at the defence because we lacked players due to injuries. It must be admitted that it was quite difficult. At beginning I didn't know how I had to play. I think I had to get accustomed with the lapse of time. So I can play as defender if it is necessary."
With Jürgen Röber now in charge of the Aliens, fitness is integral part of their plans. The experienced leader takes a hands on approach to which Leonid added:
"Of course, we improve our physical condition. We work well. But it is impossible to reach the peak of shape for such short period. Jürgen Röber even said that according to results of our tests of the running we recover quite hard. It's nothing, I think second training camp will be easier for us. We must work hard now to reap the fruits afterwards."
With the season quickly approaching, Saturn Moscow supporters can expect their side ready to perform with a high work-rate and an emerging young striker in Leonid Kovel.
