LFP hands down suspensions

The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has handed down suspensions to Claude Makélélé and Stéphane Sessegnon regarding their actions in the recent match against Saint-Étienne. While difficult losses for the Parisians, they were both expected and highly warranted.

Against Saint-Étienne, Stéphane Sessegnon retaliated against Blaise Matuidi's hard foul with an obvious head-butt while Claude Makélélé launched into a deplorable two footed tackle against Yohan Benalouane that could have caused a serious injury.

Their respective suspensions will commence on Monday with Stéphane Sessegnon out for three matches and Claude Makélélé out for two. Unfortunately this is highly costly loss as les Rouge et Bleu will be without Stéphane Sessegnon in their crucial match against l'OM at Parc des Princes on March 15.
