Rayados finally answer with a win

The Rayados finally answered the call, responding with a 2-1 victory over Atlante. The match certainly didn't look to be headed in the right direction for Monterrey supporters as Luis Gabriel Rey scored for Atlante in the first minute of the match. However with the work of William Paredes the Rayados got back in the match as he set up Jared Borgetti to level the match just past the half-hour mark and continued his creative influence with Felipe Baloy heading in his cross with six minutes remaining in the half. With the score now 2-1, Monterrey displayed good discipline and fundamentals and were able to hold Atlante off the score-sheet for the remainder of the match.

The victory ends Monterrey's seven match winless streak and their first victory since the August victory over Santos. Tied at fourth in Group 1 with Indios de Ciudad Juárez, with only three teams below them they face América next Sunday with two matches remaining in the Apertura session.
