Werkself’s visit of Borussia-Park today comes with even greater importance following the Bavarians victory over Hoffenheim on Friday. With a victory Bruno Labbadia would have his squad only three points out of first in the table. Both sides are coming off two consecutive losses, leaving managers in poor moods and not willing to accept excuses.
‘Gladbach are likely to be without Uwe Gospodarek with Jean-Sebastian Jaures, Thomas Kleine and Oliver Neuville definitely out. Leverkusen’s injury list continues as a lengthy one with Vratislav Gresko, Bernd Schneider, Pirmin Schwegler and Lukas Sinkiewicz out and Arturo Vidal suspended.
Bruno Labbadia is, as you would guess, demanding a victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach and climbing back up the table.
“We’re looking to get back on track. It was a new experience for us losing two games on the trot. We’ve got another two games coming up and looking at the table you’d think they were east to predict but these sides are fighting to stay up. So, it’s up to us to produce a better performance than we did against Bielefeld where there were too many players that only gave us 80%.”
“It won’t be easy but if we want to go forwards then we’ll have to try to win both games. The deserves to gives itself a pat on the back for the the season so far but we’ve got to concentrate on the here and now and not look back. We’ve got to show that mental strength again that we’ve had all season.”
“It’s obvious the Borussia will try to close us down and seek to use their strength to disrupt our normal game. We’ve got to be prepared to fight and then impose ourselves on the game.”
