Roy Beerens scores twice to lead Heerenveen

Roy Beerens scored twice to lead Heerenveen to a 2-0 victory over De Graafschap. With the victory Trond Sollied side now sits fifth in the table, tied with
PSV who played Vitesse to a 1-1 draw today. De Graafschap, unbeaten in its last four matches including last weeks 3-1 victory over Feyenoord looked confident in the early going but fourteen minutes in Paulo Henrique's cross from the left was re-directed in by the Roy Beerens. A near capacity crowd at Abe Lenstra had little time to stay seated as the twenty-year wingman added the second of his night only seven minutes later as he benefited from Norwegian international Christian Grindheim provision, scoring with a clinical finish from just over ten meters. Heerenveen kept the match in-check with quality midfield play and it wasn't till the final ten minutes that De Graafschap were able to launch a serious scoring threat. However each of these efforts were insufficient and Heerenveen took the victory in what could be called the best performance of the year.
