Ashkan Dejagah out of Wolfsburg lineup for extended period

Wolfsburg revealed that Ashkan Dejagah has been hospitalized in Hamburg to undergo treatment for hepatitis A. The twenty-two year old German U21 will naturally be unavailable for an extended period given the severity of the illness.

Manager Felix Magath said of the matter:

"It is very unfortunate and he will be sidelined for a very long time. We wish him the swiftest of recoveries."

It is highly unlikely that he would return during the balance of the campaign and it is safer to assume that if everything goes as planned he will be available for training camp. Extreme caution must be followed with this very serious situation.
