Paris Saint-Germain returned to winning form with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat Le Havre at Parc des Princes Sunday evening. The victory pull les Rouge et Bleu back into the battle of the top spot with the focus on next Friday's encounter with Lyonnais.
While some will note the total domination of the Parisians, possibly the most important aspect of the match was welcoming home reception for Mickaël Landreau and his corresponding error-free performance. With Ludovic Giuly, Guillaume Hoarau and Jérôme Rothen, PSG withstood early pressure by the visitors before opening the scoring four minutes before the break. After a poor clearance by Le Havre, Jérôme Rothen played a surging Ludovic Giuly into the area with the veteran side-footing the ball into the opposite corner. Paris Saint-Germain doubled the lead ten minutes into the half when Ludovic Giuly's provision was headed-on by Guillaume Hoarau to Jérôme Rothen to the left side of the six-yard box before sending the ball in. Without further threat from their visitors PSG made it 3-0 as time wound down with Guillaume Hoarau sending in Jérôme Rothen's cross.
