Victor Piţurcă reign in-charge of Romania ends

Taking charge of Romania in December of 2004, Victor Piţurcă led the Tricolorii up from a world ranking of twenty-eighth to high of eleventh in August of last year. However the last six months have been difficult for the Romanian side as they have only one win in five World Cup qualifying matches and are resigned to missing South Africa 2010. With a need for long rebuilding project the Federaţia Română de Fotbal has terminated the contract of the legendary Steaua Bucureşti striker.

There has yet to be any announcements on a replacement as Romania returns to play on 6 June against Lithania.
