Leeds suffer a costly loss against Southend

The midweek match-up against Southend ended in disappointment as Leeds lost 1-0 with the lone goal off Dan Harding's free-kick eighteen minutes into the match. The loss sends Leeds to third-place, three points behind Scunthorpe and Millwall who are locked in a tie for first.

Southend played a brilliant fundamental scheme against Leeds before the break although their definitely wasn't the same bounce in Gary McAllister's squad. After the break Leeds produced a number of solid scoring chances and but were unable to finish. As with other losses this campaign, they fell into the bad habit of slowing to the oppositions base and being predictable.
