“Visualise scoring a second goal against Urawa” was Gamba Osaka manager’s Akira Nishino comments to his players prior to yesterdays practice.
After drawing in the first leg, Gamba heads to Saitama Stadium with their manager seeing the game to be decided by more than one goal:
“I don’t think the game will end 0-0 or 1-0, I think a second goal will decide the game.”
“We have been able to show some good performances in the last few games although maybe we have not been able to show our real offensive style this season.”
Gamba have been slowly coming out of their offensive shell and after an earlier swoon have won four of their last five and played to a scoreless draw against league leaders the Kashima Antlers.
“We’re not treating this as such as special game, we are relaxed and treating it like a normal league game.”
Gamba defeated the Red Diamonds at Saitama Stadium earlier this year 3-2 in rather easy fashion. The Red Diamonds are presently reeling with only one win in seven matches and seen their championship hopes tumble down the table.
