Newcastle and Everton play to 2-2 draw

Newcastle earned a hard earned point today as they played to a 2-2 against Everton. The match certainly looked to be headed in the wrong direction for the Magpies as Everton opened up a 2-0 lead on the strength of Mikel Arteta penalty strike seventeen minutes into the match and followed up with Marouane Fellaini goal ten minutes before the break. However Newcastle fought back with ruthless tenacity Damien Duff served up Steven Taylor with a perfect cross that he headed to the back of the net before the break to make it 2-1. As the half began it was Damien Duff again to bring good fortune for Newcastle as he leveled the match just after the half began, set-up by Steven Taylor.

Newcastle returns to action following the international break against Manchester City.
