Rangers - St. Mirren match preview

The Gers travel to Love Street to face Gus MacPherson's St. Mirren. It has been a tough start of campaign St. Mirren as they sit at the bottom of the Scottish Premier League table however they haven't been out of any of their matches with each of their league losses decided by a single goal.

In Sundays match-up against the Rangers, St. Mirren will be without their defending nucleus of Jack Ross and Will Haining to injuries as well as Franco Miranda who is in the sin-bin.

St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson commented to the BBC on the injuries:

"It's unfortunate that we've been hit in the one area in defence through injury. But, if they don't make it, it just becomes an opportunity for guys that have been frustrated and are desperate to play."

Walter Smith has both Steven Whittaker and Lee McCulloch available but both are expected to sit an extra week to ensure complete recovery. Rangers have yet to lose a league match this year, the lone blemish being a draw to Aberdeen and Walter Smith knows not to look beyond this match.
