Spartak Moscow advances to UEFA Cup


In a match just concluded Spartak Moscow advances in the UEFA Cup on a 2-1 aggregate as they drew level at one to Baník Ostrava at Luzhniki Stadium.

Hoping for a call-up to Guus Hiddink's squad, Nikita Bazhenov opened the scoring for Spartak only three minutes into the match to give Spartak the lead. Baník Ostrava was able to level it thirteen minutes before the break with Rudolf Otepka goal however they were unable to break through for the winning strike.
