Monterrey collapse continues with 2-1 loss to Jaguares

The fortunes of the Monterrey continued to slide downhill as they lost 2-1 to the Jaguares at the Tecnológico.

Monterrey opened fast, clearly the aggressor and looked destined to open the scoring. However finishing wasn't complete and attempts fell short. Finally at the twenty-third minute the Jaguares shocked the home crowd as Itamar Batista centered into the box and Adolfo Bautista headed the ball to the back of the net. Throughout the balance of the half both clubs continued on end to end play but final attempts were always lacking. With seven minutes left, Monterrey's fate was sealed as a Gilberto Mora found an open Itamar Batista who cleanly slotted the ball to the back of the net, giving the Jaguares the 2-0 lead. The Rayados brought themselves a goal closer when Jesús Eduardo Zavala scored from a Jared Borgetti with three minutes left, however efforts to level the match were fruitless and the score ended with the Jaguares ahead 2-1.

Monterrey faces Atlas in a effort to stop their three match losing streak.
