St Mirren defeats Rangers 1-0

It was a story-booking ending for Love Street, as in the Rangers final visit to the grounds St. Mirren ended its twenty-two year losing streak at home as they defeated Walter Smith's men 1-0. Whilst the Rangers controlled the majority of play with endless opportunities to score, St. Mirren 'keeper Mark Howard thwarted every effort. After entering the match only five minutes earlier, nineteen year-old Stephen McGinn struck a sublime curling drive from twenty meters beyond Allan McGregor to the delight of their home supporters. The day of destiny continued as with time running out Kris Boyd clanged a shot off the post only to have Kyle Lafferty final effort being cleared off the line by a proud unified group of St. Mirren. For Football fans, in particular of Scottish Football it was a brilliant moment for their club that we all can appreciate.
